Regional Conference on Climate Change and Health, Kathmandu (Invited Talk)
GLOHMED researcher participated in a regional conference and gave a talk titled, “Climate-vulnerable populations: Who are they, where are they and what role they can play in climate-health research”. In his talk, Dr. Bhattarai discussed the epidemiology of climate-sensitive diseases, their linkages with the social determinants, and the scope of community participation in climate-health research & innovation. The event “Connecting the dots between Climate Change and Health”, was jointly organized by the US National Academy of Medicine (NAM), InterAcademy Partnership (IAP), National Academy of Science & Technology (NAST), and locally by Partnership for Sustainable Development (PSD) and Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC). It was addressed by the Nepali Prime Minister and Ministers, officials from the academies (InterAcademy Partnership, South Asian national academies, national research councils) and a handful of scientists.
