On October 19th, the International Symposium on “One Health in Rapid Urbanization”, held at the China Hall of Science and Technology in Beijing, brought together scientists, public health experts, and policymakers from multiple countries to discuss how integrated “One Health” approaches can address the interconnected challenges of human, animal, and environmental health in rapidly urbanizing contexts.
During the keynote session, GlohMed investigator Dr. Suraj Bhattarai from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine presented research using the case of melioidosis in Nepal to highlight the hidden disease burden emerging at the human–animal–environment interface.
