Nobel Laureate Meetings, Lindau (Participation)
GlohMed founder and Chief investigator Dr. Suraj Bhattarai participated in the Nobel Laureate Meetings 2023 (Physiology and Medicine), in Lindau, Germany. This prestigious event was attended by more than 40 Nobel laureates, 600+ young scientists selected through a competitive process, Nobel council and foundation members, representatives of academic partners and sponsors, and science journalists. Dr. Bhattarai was nominated as a participant by Global Young Academy. This year’s meeting revolved around the three themes: diversity, artificial intelligence and climate change, all of which have a direct impact on the health of people worldwide.  During the full week of scientific fest, young scientists, who came from 75+ countries, got the opportunity to participate in panel discussions, agora talks, laureate luncheons, science walks with the laureates, and formal exchanges as well as informal interactions with fellow scientists. The talks and panels were inspiring and motivational. During a dinner event hosted by the German Federal Minister of Education and Research (Bettina Stark-Watzinger) and attended by the Austrian counterpart (Martin Polaschek), Dr. Bhattarai had an opportunity to chat face-to-face with them and discussed the challenges faced by and opportunities for young scientists in the post-COVID era.
