Visit to the United Nations office and participation in the 77th World Health Assembly, Geneva

GlohMed has been successful in keeping the spirit of #globalhealth high and raising its flag in the global arena, even in a short time of its establishment. GlohMed fellows visited the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, attended the World Health Assembly events, interacted with global leaders, and observed how UN offices operate to improve health and lives of people worldwide. Our fellows, Dr. Suraj Bhattarai and Ms. Jaya Dhungana, had quite a healthy start at “Walk the Talk” celebrations in 77th World Health Assembly, connected with the MoH delegations from Nepal and neighbor countries, and they met some prominent global health leaders like Kate O’ Brien (Director of WHO Immunization, Vaccines and Biologics), among others. Dr. Suraj Bhattarai participated at a WHA side event- ‘Skin Diseases as a Global Priority’ at John Knox Center, organized by the Skin NTDs Team at the Department of Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases, WHO. He serves as a member of its two working groups (Epidemiology and Surveillance and Capacity Building). Dr. Bhattarai also attended two other WHA side events- “WHO collaborating Centers” and the Launch of The Lancet Regional Health-Europe Series: “Addressing migration and health inequity in Europe”. #UnitedNations #WHA77
