Visit to the Medical Research Unit The Gambia at the LSHTM, The Gambia (Workshop and presentations)

GlohMed research team visited the Medical Research Unit The Gambia at the LSHTM in January 2024, to discuss country progress and challenges in providing antenatal services to pregnant women, newborn care and maternal-newborn immunization in LMICs. Clinicians and researchers from the Gambia, Uganda, Nigeria, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Nepal, UK and Germany participated in the two-day closed sessions. Representing GlohMed, Dr Suraj Bhattarai delivered a talk on maternal-newborn-child health scenario of Nepal and presented preliminary findings of the ‘Get Ready, Get Real’ project. The team also visited Bundung Maternal and Child Health Center and learned about their clinical services and health data management systems that were exemplary despite limited resources.
